Yoga, QiGong and Pranayama are related systems designed to integrate our physical body, inner qualities and outward awareness. As holistic integrative practices they work on all levels of our body, mind and spirit. Bethany Bechtel’s approach is to provide a therapeutic session each week that is accessible to people regardless of their physical abilities. The work is deep, but not physically difficult. Yoga and Qigong classes feature gentle physical movement designed to improve balance and increase circulation. Yoga and Qigong work on multiple levels, increasing blood flow to the organs and extremities, building bone mass, modulating blood pressure, improving circulation in the lymphatic system, and so on.

Pranayama practices focus more specifically on breathing exercises. Pranayama offers significant physical and mental health benefits by regulating the nervous system, reducing stress, and improving lung function. Key advantages include lowered blood pressure, decreased anxiety, increased energy, enhanced focus, and improved sleep quality, with benefits supported by studies on cardiovascular, respiratory, and emotional health.
